Sustainable entrepreneurship in the apparel industry: Passion and challenges

Guided by the Triple Bottom Line theory, this study aims to acquire a deeper understanding of passion and challenges that entrepreneurs face in developing their sustainable apparel businesses. Qualitative data were collected via personal interviews with research goal giving thematic description experience entrepreneurs. Purposive sampling was used select five Southeastern U.S. Four themes emerged related entrepreneurial passion, including for what are making/selling – products, future planet people, building strong local community, changing industry. Three concerning facing entrepreneurs, limited options, price considerations, need change consumer’s mindset. The expands existing literature examining business from an entrepreneurship perspective.
